Here are the three ways you can enroll:

Via Benefits

The process of finding and enrolling in an individual health plan that fits your needs and budget can be time-consuming as well as frustrating. Via Benefits is here to help you learn about your plan options, including critical illness and hospital protection plans. This information is available when you shop and enroll on the website or when you call us and speak with a licensed benefit advisor. Shopping and enrolling in plans on the website is convenient, saves time and lets you review plans at your own pace. If you’d like to speak with one of our licensed benefit advisors for assistance, call us today at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) and let one of our benefit advisors assist you in deciding what plans fit your needs and budget.

Note: Via Benefits can't enroll residents of Vermont, Rhode Island, or Massachusetts in plans through the Marketplace nor directly through the insurance carrier, due to state licensing restrictions. However, Via Benefits can help you choose a plan from publicly available information on the state's anonymous shop and compare website.

The Health Insurance Marketplace

There are different enrollment options through the following marketplaces. Via Benefits can assist you in enrolling using any of these options.

State-Based Marketplace (SBM)

States that use the SBM are responsible for all marketplace functions for the individual Health Insurance Marketplace. If you reside in an SBM, you can apply for and enroll in coverage through websites created and maintained by the state. You can also call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) for assistance enrolling.

Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM)

For FFM states, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) performs all marketplace functions. Eligibility and enrollment functions are through healthcare.gov. You can also shop and enroll on our website or call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) to enroll.

Enrolling through any health insurance marketplace directly or though Via Benefits allows you to apply for the Premium Tax Credit (PTC) or government subsidy. The PTC helps reduce the amount of a plan's premium offered through either marketplace. The cost-sharing reduction subsidy reduces your out-of-pocket costs. An Insurance Carrier

You can enroll in a health plan directly through an insurance carrier, using its self-maintained website. It doesn't matter what state you live in. Some examples of insurance carriers are UnitedHealth, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and Humana. The availability of insurance carriers depends on where you live.

Enrolling directly through an insurance carrier doesn't give you the opportunity to apply for a government subsidy. However, if you indicate you would like to apply for one, the carrier's website directs you to apply through either marketplace. You can shop and enroll on our website or call us at 1-866-322-2824 (TTY: 711) to enroll.
