Your Insurance ID Card

Getting Your ID Card

Once you submit your enrollment application, it may take up to six weeks to receive your membership packet and insurance ID cards. These items are sent directly to you by the insurance carrier you selected. We don't issue your ID cards or other membership materials.

Using Your ID Card

Your insurance ID card has important information for you and your providers.

  • Always show your insurance ID card when you go to a health care provider or pharmacy.

  • If your insurance ID card is ever damaged, lost, or stolen, contact your insurance carrier directly to request a new card. Contact us if you need assistance contacting your insurance carrier.

Going Paperless

Some insurance carriers have chosen to go paperless and no longer issue insurance ID cards. If you're enrolled with one of these carriers, you may be able to print a copy of your ID card directly from the carrier's website or call the carrier and request a card. Not all carriers are able to provide you with an ID card, even if requested.

Note: VSP doesn’t distribute cards to its participants. To use your vision benefits, simply inform your eye care provider you have VSP. The provider will ask for the required information to confirm your coverage.
