Shopping for Hospital Indemnity Plans
Quality medical plans can leave you with unexpected expenses when you’re hospitalized. Costs like plan deductibles, copays and coinsurance for doctor and emergency room care, testing and supplies, and extra costs for out-of-network care may not be covered. Many people are not financially prepared to handle these extra costs.
Hospital indemnity insurance pays when you’re admitted and confined to a hospital due to an accident or illness. Typically, the insurance pays a flat amount for admission and a daily amount for each day of a hospital stay. It can also pay extra benefits for admission to or confinement in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The cost of a hospital indemnity plan is less than you may expect and is a cost-effective way for you to supplement your health care plan. Review the plan-specific rates to see if the coverage is a good fit for your family’s budget.
1. Go to Prepare to Shop.
2. Select the Hospital Indemnity product tile.
3. Go through the Prepare to Shop process and provide the requested information.
4. Review the Hospital Indemnity plan results.
5. Select View Plan to select coverage.
6. Select Save and Add to Cart when you’ve chosen a plan.
7. Select Start Checkout to navigate to the Apply page to complete applications for most products. You’ll be required to call us to complete the Hospital Indemnity application over the phone with a Via Benefits licensed benefit advisor.
8. Schedule an appointment to call us to complete your application.
