If you need to make changes to your health plan outside of the Open Enrollment Period (OEP), which runs from October 15 through December 7, certain qualifying situations may allow you to change your Medicare Advantage (MA) plan, Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plan, or stand-alone Prescription Drug plan (PDP). Examples of qualifying situations include moving out of your plan’s service area or losing other insurance coverage.

These opportunities are known as Special Enrollment Periods (SEPs). Each SEP has its own rules regarding when you can make changes and what types of changes are allowed.
