Medicare Coverage Checkup Tool

Coverage Checkup is a tool that helps you choose a Prescription Drug plan (PDP) or Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan (MAPD) suited to your specific needs and preferences. You must be currently enrolled in an MAPD or PDP through Via Benefits. Coverage Checkup compares your current plan to new 2026 plans. It evaluates your current policy and suggests cost-effective MAPD or PDP plans that meet your needs using the information in your Via Benefits Profile (health status, providers, prescriptions, and pharmacies). If your plan data isn't available, you can go to the Home page, where a banner will guide you to view a recommended plan and proceed with enrollment. You can check the results during the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) starting on October 15, 2025.

To ensure Checkup Coverage accurately compares plans for you, make sure your Profile is up to date. This includes your current address and ZIP Code, healthcare providers, and prescription drug details. To learn more about creating or updating your profile, read Create Your Profile on the Website.

If you choose to switch plans, you can quickly enroll in a new one on the website, provided the plan offers online enrollment. If not, you'll need to call us to complete your application. Read Shop and Enroll in Medicare Plans on the Website for guidance.

If you're happy with your current plan and want to keep it for next year, no action is needed—it will automatically continue. However, if your plan is no longer being offered, you can still keep it as long as you continue paying the premium. Note: if you miss any payments, your coverage will end, and you won't be able to re-enroll in the same plan since it's no longer available for the current or upcoming year.

To use Coverage Checkup, complete the following steps:

1. Go to the Sign In page and enter your Email Address and Password.

2. Select Find My Plan on the Home page. Depending on your current coverage, the banner may appear differently.

3. You have the option to update your providers by selecting Remove or Add Providers. You may Skip this step.

  • Answer the Provider Network Coverage question.

  • Select Next.

 4. Update your prescriptions. You may Edit, Remove, or Add Prescriptions. Select Next.
