A Special Enrollment Period (SEP) is a time outside the yearly Open Enrollment Period (OEP) when you can sign up for health insurance. You qualify for an SEP if you’ve had certain life events, such as changes in household or residence or loss of health insurance, including loss of group heath coverage.
